Milton Keynes Christian Environment Group (MKCEG) is a network of Christians with an interest in environmental issues and a belief that living sustainable lifestyles is an essential component of faith. Our programme is designed to encourage Christians and churches to think about, and act upon, the environmental lifestyle challenges we all face.
September 2017 Update
MKCEG – our next meet-up in the pub
We aim to have our next meet up on Thursday 12th October at the Talbot, Loughton. We plan to arrive just after 7.30pm, and we usually finish soon after 9.00. As it isn’t a formal meeting, it is fine to just come along for the odd half hour to fit in with your own plans if you don’t want to use up the whole evening.
BBOWT Conference – Saturday 14th October, at Oxford Brookes University
Following our recent visit to College Lake (excellent, if rather wet!) I decided to become a member of BBOWT (Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wildlife Trust) and discovered that their AGM is to be followed by what sounds like an interesting conference, which I propose attending. If anyone would like to go to this, I could offer a lift (it takes place at Oxford).
Forces of Faith – Saturday 18th November at the Church of Christ the King, Kents Hill
John Weaver is chair of the John Ray Institute and writes some really good articles about a range of current scientific, environmental and political issues from a Christian perspective, so I anticipate a stimulating day, and plan to attend myself.
I hope you have enjoyed the summer and that now the holiday season comes to an end one or more of these autumn events will appeal to you.
