“Seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile and pray to the Lord on its behalf for in its welfare you will find your welfare” – Jeremiah 29:7
In John’s last newsletter he highlighted statistics which reveal some of the social issues which face Milton Keynes as a city. One of those issues is Loneliness:
“some areas of the city come within the bottom 10% nationally for the risk of loneliness”
HeartFM report that more people in MK are lonely than elsewhere. “A new health strategy has revealed there is a greater social isolation in the city, and that could get worse as it’s population of over-85s is predicted to rocket by 86% by 2030“. (You can find the full article here)
So at our next Assembly, and in order to show how we can “let our faith take us out of the church and into the city”, we are going to look at this issue of Loneliness.
Will we find that, as we get involved, we will start to become purposeful, begin to develop spiritually? Will we will find our energy renewed, our capacity to share faith growing?
Come and join us on 7th March and find out!
